Discover Mitchell Tech
Chartered in 1966, Mitchell Technical College opened in September 1968 as part of a statewide system of four technical colleges. More than 19,000 students have graduated since that time. The College operates under a dual governance system. Policy, hiring, local fees, and operations are decided by the Board of Education of the Mitchell School District 17-2. Tuition and state fees, program approval, and bonding issues are decided by the South Dakota Board of Technical Education. Mitchell Tech enjoys a close relationship with Mitchell and regional communities. There are established advisory committees of community and regional representatives who provide program input and support.
Students will find an amazing variety of occupations open to them after attending Mitchell Tech. Whether they want to communicate with someone on another continent, create a show-stopping meal, build a home for a young family, x-ray a broken arm, or ride off into the sunset on a custom-built motorcycle, Mitchell Tech has 35 face-to-face and 4 online programs, many of them regionally unique, available.
