Birmingham Dental Assistant School 40-hour externship program provides our students with the real-world experience they need to become confident and qualified dental assistants. The externship portion of our course allows our students the opportunity to work under the direct guidance of experienced dental professionals in a local dental office. Students at Birmingham Dental Assistant School are eligible to begin their externships after class 3. Although we encourage our students to find their own externships, our Student Success Specialists are here to help our students identify potential opportunities in the area and assist with applications.

A U.S. high school diploma, GED, or U.S. college transcripts/degree is required in order to take the course. If you do not have any of these or if your degree is from outside the United States, please call your Admissions Associate at the school so they can determine if there is another option for you.
This course requires a 40-hour externship in order to graduate and must be completed during the program. A U.S. High School diploma, transcript, equivalency (U.S. college transcripts/degree are also accepted) prior to class
A copy of your shot records to include: 1. Hepatitis B, 2. Tetanus-Diptheria-Pertussis (TDP), 3. Measles, Mumps, and Rubella (MMR), 4. Varicella or sign a Vaccination Declination waiver
