What is a Customer Service Certificate?

This certificate is intended to prepare individuals for employment in a variety of customer service. The courses in this certificate go towards the A.A.S. in Business degree at Cleveland State.  This certificate is not a transfer certificate, although many institutions accept all or part of the course work toward the bachelor’s degree.

What will I learn?

Upon completion of this program, students will be able to do the following:

  1. Demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively, think critically, and develop problem solving skills while utilizing quantitative data in business situations through physical or virtual presence in writing, speaking, listening, and electronic data.
  2. Demonstrate a basic understanding of the American free enterprise system.
  3. Demonstrate an understanding of the basic interaction of supply and demand.
  4. Apply business and management knowledge through employability of skills
  5. Interpret accounting information, marketing practices, and economic data to be creative with business solutions

    • Complete your certificate in less than a year!
  • Associate of Applied Science in Business Concentration: Business A.A.S.
    • Two-year degree
  • Associate of Science in Business Administration A.S.
    • If you plan to continue to a four-year institution

Apply for financial aid at www.FAFSA.gov
A student is encouraged to apply early for financial aid. He/she must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or the FAFSA Renewal Application as soon as possible after October 1 to ensure that the Financial Aid Office receives the Institutional Student Information Record and other documents prior to the priority deadline. July 1st is the priority deadline for applying for the fall semester and December 1st for the spring semester.

If this is your first term of enrollment and you plan to receive aid, the priority deadline to apply or renew your FAFSA and submit any requested documentation is December 1.Congratulations! After you complete this semester’s courses and maintain an overall 2.0 GPA, you will complete your one year certificate. Apply to graduate with your certificate by completing the online Intent to Graduate form under the Graduation Tab within Registration Tools & Forms on CougarNet.Work with your advisor to discuss the possibility of continuing on to complete your A.A.S. Degree in Business.
